What do the following quotation mean to you?
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." – Mahatma Gandhi

This quote from Mahatma Gandhi is a powerful paradox revealing a core truth about human existence. To me, it means that true self-discovery is not an inward-looking, solitary pursuit but an outward-facing act of compassion.

"Losing yourself" signifies transcending the ego—our personal anxieties, desires, and self-centeredness. When we immerse ourselves in the "service of others," we step outside our limited worldview and connect with a purpose larger than ourselves.

In this very act of selfless service, we "find yourself." We uncover our latent capacity for empathy, our true strengths, and our deepest values. Our identity becomes defined not by what we possess, but by what we contribute. It teaches that a meaningful life is found by connecting with the humanity in others, which in turn allows us to discover the best version of our own humanity.
