Question

Two positions of a cubical block with faces A, B, C, D, E and F are shown below. When F is at the top which face will be at the bottom?

The correct answer is
D

To determine which face of the cube will be at the bottom when face F is at the top, we need to analyze the given positions of the cube:

From the two cube positions shown:

  1. In the first position, faces visible are B, C, and D.
  2. In the second position, faces visible are E, A, and D.

This means:

  • Face B is opposite to Face E.
  • Face C is opposite to Face A.
  • Face D is adjacent to both these arrangements.

Since face F is not visible in any of the given positions, it must be opposite to face D (since D appears in both positions).

Thus, when F is at the top, face D will be at the bottom.

Conclusion: The face at the bottom when F is at the top is \(D\).
