Question

The inorder and preorder Traversal of binary Tree are dbeafcg and abdecfg respectively. The post-order Traversal is __________.

This question was previously asked in
UGC NET 2015 Paper 1 Question Paper (27-Dec-2015)
The correct answer is

debfgca

The first preorder symbol a is the root; in the inorder sequence, dbe lies to its left and fcg to its right.

Left part: preorder bde gives root b with left child d and right child e.

Right part: preorder cfg gives root c with left child f and right child g.

Postorder = left, right, root \(=\) (d e b)(f g c) a \(=\) debfgca

Check: the inorder of this tree is d b e a f c g, matching the given sequence.

Hence, debfgca.
