Select the number from among the given options that can replace the question mark (?) in the following series:

66, 75, 86, 99, 114, ?

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2024 (Tier-I) Previous Year Paper (17-Sep-2024) (Shift 3)
The correct answer is

131

The given series is: 66, 75, 86, 99, 114, ?. The difference between consecutive numbers is: 75 - 66 = 9, 86 - 75 = 11, 99 - 86 = 13, 114 - 99 = 15. The difference is increasing by 2 each time. So, the next difference will be 17. Therefore, 114 + 17 = 131. Hence, the correct answer is 131.
