The correct answer is

Both [A] and [R] are true, but [R] is not the correct explanation of [A]

Assertion [A] is true. At the Kanchipuram session of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee in November 1925, Periyar moved a resolution demanding communal representation (reservation) for non-Brahmins. When the resolution was not allowed, he walked out and left the Congress Party.

Reason [R] is also true. In 1925 Periyar launched the Self-Respect Movement, and in the same year he began the Tamil weekly Kudi Arasu to spread its ideas of rationalism and social equality.

However, [R] does not explain [A]. Periyar left the Congress because it refused to accept communal representation; starting the Self-Respect Movement was a consequence of that break, not its cause. So both statements are true, but the reason given is not the correct explanation of the assertion.

The codes saying only one statement is true fail because both are historically correct, and the code saying [R] explains [A] fails because the cause of the exit was the rejected communal representation resolution.

Both [A] and [R] are true, but [R] is not the correct explanation of [A] option is correct.
