Question

In double circulation, which vessel delivers oxygenated blood to the heart?

The correct answer is

Pulmonary vein

In double circulation there are two separate loops. In the pulmonary loop, deoxygenated blood is pumped from the right ventricle to the lungs through the pulmonary artery, gets oxygenated in the lungs, and returns to the left atrium of the heart through the pulmonary vein. In the systemic loop, this oxygenated blood is then pumped from the left ventricle out through the aorta to the whole body.

So the vessel that carries oxygen-rich blood back to the heart is the pulmonary vein. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood away from the heart, the aorta carries oxygenated blood away from the heart to the body, and the vena cava carries deoxygenated blood from the body back to the heart.

Hence, the answer is Pulmonary vein.
