UPSSSC PET 2026 Question Paper (01-Nov-2026) (Shift-2)
The correct answer is

20000

Let the total votes polled be V. Valid votes = \( 0.9V \).

Winner gets 60% and loser gets 40% of valid votes, so margin = \( (60\% - 40\%) \times 0.9V = 0.2 \times 0.9V = 0.18V \).

\( 0.18V = 3600 \Rightarrow V = \frac{3600}{0.18} = 20000 \).

Check: valid = 18000, winner = 10800, loser = 7200, margin = 10800 - 7200 = 3600.

Hence, 20000.
