Question

In a certain code language, A < B means 'A is the brother of B',
A # B means 'A is mother of B',
A + B means 'A is the father of B',,
A @ B means 'A is the wife of B'. How is P related to Y if 'P # Q < R @ X + Y'?

This question was previously asked in
RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (9-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

Mother's mother

Decode each symbol step by step. P # Q means P is the mother of Q. Q < R means Q is the brother of R, so Q and R are siblings and share the same mother P, which makes P the mother of R as well.

R @ X means R is the wife of X, so R is female and X is her husband. X + Y means X is the father of Y, so X and R together are the parents of Y, making R the mother of Y.

Therefore P is the mother of R, and R is the mother of Y, so P is Y's mother's mother (maternal grandmother).

Hence, the correct answer is Mother's mother.
