CTET 2022 Paper 2 Maths Question Paper (Jan-27-2023) (Eng-Hin-Skt)
The correct answer is

Non-metals are essential only for some living beings like us

Non-metals such as oxygen, carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen are essential for the survival of all living organisms, since they form the building blocks of the food eaten and the air breathed by every living being, not just by humans.

Chlorine, a non-metal, is used in the water purification process, so the statement about non-metals being used in water purification is correct.

Sulphur and phosphorus, both non-metals, are used in making crackers, so the statement about non-metals being used in crackers is correct.

Nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, which are made of non-metals, are widely used in fertilizers, so the statement about non-metals being used in fertilizers is correct.

Hence, the statement that non-metals are essential only for some living beings like us is the incorrect one, since non-metals are essential for all living beings.
