The correct answer is

ICICI Bank

The correct answer is ICICI Bank.

Effective 1 August 2025, ICICI Bank revised the minimum average monthly balance (MAB) requirement for new savings accounts. For its semi-urban branches the requirement was raised to ₹25,000 from the earlier ₹5,000, while metro/urban branches went to ₹50,000 and rural branches to ₹10,000. The change applied only to accounts opened on or after that date; existing customers continued under the older limits.

State Bank of India, the country's largest public-sector bank, had in fact moved towards waiving average-monthly-balance penalties and did not announce this hike. HDFC Bank and Punjab National Bank did not make this specific ₹5,000-to-₹25,000 semi-urban revision from 1 August 2025.
