Question

How much simple interest will Rs. 4000 earn in 18 months at 12% per annum?

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2016 (Tier 1) Previous Year Question Paper (11-Sep-2016) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is

Rs. 720

The formula for simple interest is: SI = (P × R × T) / 100, where P is the principal, R is the rate of interest, and T is the time period in years. Here, P = 4000, R = 12%, and T = 18 months (which is 1.5 years). Substituting these values, we get: SI = (4000 × 12 × 1.5) / 100 = 720. Therefore, the simple interest earned is Rs. 720.
