The correct answer is

Both statements I and II are correct.

The Mughal Empire was divided for administration into provinces called Subas, introduced systematically under Akbar.

Statement I: Each Suba was headed by a Subedar (also called Sipah Salar or Nazim), the provincial governor, who was appointed directly by the Emperor and was responsible for the general administration and law and order of the province. This statement is correct.

Statement II: The Daroga-i-Dak (also linked with the news and postal system) was the officer in charge of the postal/communication arrangements, supervising the dak-chowkis (postal stages) that carried news and letters across the empire. Thus he was responsible for maintaining the communication channel. This statement is also correct.

Since both Statement I and Statement II are correct, the right choice is that both statements are correct.
