Baburnama Original Language Explained
The historical memoir known as the Tuzuk-i-Baburi, or Baburnama, was originally written in the Chagatai language. This language is a form of Turkic.
Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire, authored his autobiography in his native tongue. While the work has been translated into many languages, including Persian and later English, its original composition is in Chagatai.
Persian and Urdu gained prominence later in the Mughal court, and Hindi was also prevalent, but they were not the original language of Babur's memoirs.
