Pink

Phenolphthalein is an acid–base indicator. It is colourless in acidic and neutral solutions but turns pink in a basic (alkaline) solution, because the change in pH alters the structure of the indicator molecule and hence the light it absorbs. This makes it a common indicator for detecting bases and for titrations.

"Colourless" is the colour phenolphthalein shows in acidic or neutral solutions, not basic ones. "Yellow" and "red" are colours associated with other indicators (for example, methyl orange is yellow in base and red in strong acid), but they are not the colour of phenolphthalein in a base.

Hence, phenolphthalein turns pink in a basic solution.
