UGC NET 2015 Paper 1 Question Paper (27-Dec-2015)
The correct answer is

10 (1)

Section 10(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 provides that agricultural income is not included in total income, so it is exempt from income tax. (For individuals it is still used for rate purposes under partial integration.)

Section 2(1A) only defines agricultural income, such as rent or revenue from agricultural land and income from cultivation; it does not grant the exemption.

Section 10(2) exempts a member's share of income from a Hindu Undivided Family.

Section 10(4) exempts certain interest paid to non-residents, such as interest on NRE account balances.

Hence, 10 (1).
