The UGC guidelines on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) prescribe a 10-point grading scale that converts a student's percentage of marks in a course into letter grades and corresponding grade points.
As per this scale, the letter grades and their grade points are: O (Outstanding) = 10, A+ (Excellent) = 9, A (Very Good) = 8, B+ (Good) = 7, B (Above Average) = 6, C (Average) = 5, P (Pass) = 4, and F (Fail) = 0.
These grade points are subsequently used to calculate the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for the student.
