The correct answer is

18%

The correct answer is 18%.

$ \text{Total SP} = \text{Total CP} + \text{Profit} $ $ 6608 \times \text{SP} = 6608 \times \text{CP} + 1008 \times \text{SP} $ Rearranging this gives us the same equation we solved earlier: $ 6608 \times \text{SP} - 1008 \times \text{SP} = 6608 \times \text{CP} $ $ 5600 \times \text{SP} = 6608 \times \text{CP} $ This confirms our initial equation setup was correct. The core task is always to find the ratio of Profit to CP to get the percentage gain.
