OperationsSalesHRFinanceIT

If 15% of the employees in the Sales Department are transferred to the IT Department, how many employees will be left in Sales, and what will be the new percentage of IT employees in the company, respectively?

This question was previously asked in
RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (18-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

204, and 33%

From the pie chart, Sales = 20% of 1200 = 240 employees and IT = 30% of 1200 = 360 employees.

15% of the Sales department is transferred to IT: \(15\% \text{ of } 240 = 36\) employees.

Employees left in Sales = \(240 - 36 = 204\).

New IT strength = \(360 + 36 = 396\); new IT percentage = \(\dfrac{396}{1200} \times 100 = 33\%\).

Hence, this is the correct answer.(204, and 33%) is correct.
