• First Observed in 2003: PBD was first celebrated in 2003 to honor the achievements of the global Indian community.
• Biennial Event: Initially celebrated annually, PBD became a biennial event starting from 2015, offering a platform to connect with India’s progress.
• Key Events & Activities: PBD includes the PBD Convention, Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, and Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, which celebrate the Indian diaspora's influence on India’s development.
• Recent Initiatives for Diaspora:
  • Vande Bharat Mission: Over 45 lakh Indians were repatriated during the COVID-19 crisis.
