What Are Minke Whales?

Minke whales are the smallest species of baleen whales, belonging to the genus Balaenoptera. They are categorized into two subspecies:

• Common Minke Whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata)
• Antarctic Minke Whale (Balaenoptera bonaerensis)

Habitat and Global Distribution

Minke whales are found in oceans worldwide, from polar regions to tropical waters.
