On January 1, 2025, Air India introduced in-flight Wi-Fi services on select domestic and international flights.
Air India’s in-flight Wi-Fi service is available on the following aircraft:
These aircraft are equipped with advanced technology to provide uninterrupted internet connectivity, ensuring passengers enjoy seamless online access during their flight.
With this service, Air India becomes the first airline in India to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic flights, setting a new benchmark for air travel in India. Travelers can stay connected to the internet via Wi-Fi-enabled devices, including laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
Once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet, passengers can connect multiple devices simultaneously to the in-flight Wi-Fi. For a limited time, Air India is offering free Wi-Fi access as part of an introductory period, making it an attractive feature for travelers.
Air India employs two main systems to provide high-speed internet during flights:
Data from antennas is transmitted to passengers' devices via an on-board router. Satellite-based services are activated once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 3,000 meters (10,000 feet).

Founded in 1932 by J.R.D. Tata as Tata Airlines, Air India holds a prestigious place in Indian aviation history. The airline pioneered international flights from India, solidifying its reputation in the global aviation industry.
With the introduction of in-flight Wi-Fi, Air India is advancing its services, providing passengers with an enhanced flying experience. As the airline continues to modernize its fleet and embrace new technologies, it remains at the forefront of the Indian aviation industry.
