Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, widely addressed as UPPSC, conducts Uttar Pradesh Combined State or Upper Subordinate Exam on a regular interval.

The exam is of three different stages namely,

  1. Preliminary Exam (Objective Type & Multiple choices),
  2. Mains Exam (Conventional Type, i.e. Written examination) and
  3. Viva- Voce/Interview (Personality Test).

The primary reason for the exam to be held is for the recruitment of government posts inside the state of Uttar Pradesh and across the whole country too. Candidates who crack the examination get recruited in various government posts in the fields of land records, land revenue, general administration and other governmental sectors.

A candidate with the aspiration to take up the exam and crack has to fulfil some essential eligibility criteria.

  • The exam conduction body has the right to disqualify the candidate's application at any stage of the recruitment, if it is not satisfactory or is fake.
  • A candidate must fulfil all the categories, such as educational qualification and age limit.

A candidate must overcome all the below mentioned educational qualifications to appear for the examination.

  • The candidate applying for the examination must hold at least a bachelor's degree which is relevant to the post, from a recognized university approved by state or central government.
  • Candidates in their final semester or waiting for the results to be declared can also apply for the exam. However, they shall have to submit their final semester scorecard during the Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission.

Post-wise educational qualifications

A candidate's CGPA or percentage doesn't matter, but the candidate must hold a UG or PG degree in the particular field.

A candidate who has applied for Sub Registrar, Assistant Prosecuting Officer of transport, Law officer or Mandi Parishad The candidate must hold bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in law
District Audit Officer The candidate must hold bachelor's degree in Commerce
District Cane Officer The candidate must hold bachelor's degree in agriculture
Veterinary and Welfare officer The candidate must hold degree either in B.V.Sc. and A.H or any equivalent degree
Account and Audit Officer (Mandi Parishad) The candidate must hold a degree in Commerce with Accountancy
Senior Sugarcane Development Inspector The candidate must hold a masters degree(PG) in Agriculture Science and the CCC Certificate
Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade-I)/Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade-II) The candidate must hold either bachelor's degree or master's degree in Science with Physics or Mechanical Engineering as one subject.
District Programme Officer A bachelor's degree (Sociology/ Social Science/ Home Science/ Social Work)
Assistant Labour Commissioner
  • Degree in Arts with Sociology or Economics as a subject
  • Degree in Commerce/ Law
Senior Lecturer, DIET B.Ed with Postgraduate Degree
Designated Officer/ Food Safety Officer Postgraduate in chemistry
District Probation Officer A postgraduate degree in any related subject
Statistical officer Postgraduate in Mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics/ Agricultural Statistics
Labour Enforcement Officer Undergraduate or postgraduate in any relevant field
Extension Service Officer Group-2
  • B.Sc or B.Sc. Agri
  • Post-graduate Diploma Course for at least 15 months
Distt. Horticulture officer G B.Sc Agriculture or B.Sc Horticulture
Tax assessment officer The candidate must be an Undergraduate in commerce or in Economics
Marketing oOfficer Secretary Group-II (Mandi Parishad) The candidate must either be an Undergraduate or postgraduate in any relevant subject.
UPPSC Age limit

A candidate must ensure that he/she not only fulfils the educational but also the minimum and maximum age limit barrier to appear for the examination.

The body/board that conducts the examination has set some age limit for the candidates appearing for the exam.

  • Minimum age: A candidate must at least be 21 years old to attend the exam.
  • Maximum age: 50 years

A candidate is also provided with a few years age relaxation if he/she belongs to any of the reserved categories.

The board also follows rigorous physical body measurements of the candidates applying for the exam.

The posts for which physical appearances are measured:

  • Assistant Conservator of Forest
  • Range Forest Officer
  • Dy. Superintendent of Police
  • Superintendent of Jail
  • District Commandant Home Guards
  • Excise Inspector

Hii Rohan. Yes, you can still apply for UPPSC as The body/board that conducts the examination has set some age limit for the candidates appearing for the exam. The maximum age to apply for different Post is 40 years.
