TNPSC Important Details

Some important details TNPSC

In 1923, the British Government established the Public Works Commission to investigate the salary structure of the Indian Civil Service. The Commission was made up of four English and four Indians and Lord Lee of Fareham served as its Chairman. The Commission also spoke about the level of Indian Public Service and Indian Police. It determined the rate that in fifteen years I could make the Indian Civil Service with fifty per cent Indian members and the same in twenty-five years of Indian police.

It was left to the heart of the provincial governments to appoint and regulate their activities, as they saw fit. As a result of the free will vested in the provincial government, the Governments of Madras and Punjab proposed the establishment of their own State Commissions.
