Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) acts as a constitutional body that helps the state government in matters related to the recruitment, transfers and disciplinary actions. TNPSC takes recruitment exams (competitive, departmental) to select qualifying candidates for several vacancies within the state administration. The Combined Civil Services Examination I which is arranged by the TNPSC acts as the gateway for Group 1 Services in Tamil Nadu.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam is taken in three stages including

The Combined Civil Services Examination I is taken by TNPSC to appoint candidates for Group 1 vacancies in the Tamil Nadu state administration. This exam is also referred to as TNPSC Group 1. Three stages of TNPSC exam include:

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Interview

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern

The beneath mentioned exam pattern is the same for all Group 1 services within the Tamil Nadu state administration. Candidates can apply for different posts such as Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Officer, etc. whose appointment will be done based on the TNPSC Group I exam.

The initial stage of the TNPSC Group 1 exam is the Prelims, which acts as a screening test and the qualifying candidates will be allowed to appear for the Mains.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2021

The TNPSC Group 1 2020 notification was announced in January 2020, almost 69 vacancies for the different posts were announced. Pots like Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Assistant Director of Rural Development and District Officer, etc. were announced.

Hi Sourajit. The TNPSC Group 2 exam is a combined civil services exam for several posts and further these posts are divided into two categories. Group 2 posts require interview while there are no interviews in Group 2A posts. You can refer to the official website to get more details.
