The candidates who clear the RAS Prelims Exam are qualified to give the RAS Main Examination. As RAS Prelims is just a qualifying test only, the marks obtained in this exam will not be considered for the final RAS Exam result.

There are four papers in the RAS Main Examination, namely General Studies I, General Studies II, General Studies III, and General Hindi and General English. This an overall personality assessment exam where the general suitability of the candidates will be checked. During the test, the questions asked by the interviewers may range from current affairs of national and international importance, and the socio-economic and political knowledge about the prevailing conditions in the state of Rajasthan. The candidates will be judged upon the soft powers like leadership qualities, communication skills, mental agility and analytical outlook.
As mentioned earlier the Prelims exam is just for screening purposes, so its marks will not be included in the main result. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview Round.
