RBI Assistant 2020 Exam is conducted online and has two phases, Prelims and Mains. The exam pattern for the preliminary exam is different from the mains exam. The prelims exam pattern is same as of previous years. However, certain changes are introduced in the Mains exam.  RBI Assistant 2020  Prelims exam to be held on February 14 – 15, 2020.

RBI Assistant exam pattern for preliminary exam is divided into three sections - English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. In this paper, there will be a total of 100 questions for 100 marks. The major sections for the Mains Exam will be Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Prepp Test Series

There will be a Sectional time limit in the Mains exam only. Hence a candidate cannot switch between the sections. The candidate has to clear both Prelims and Mains exam to be eligible for the post. RBI Assistant Main exam is scheduled to be held in March 2020 (tentatively).

  • Total time allowed: 2 hours
  • Total number of questions: 100 questions.
  • No sectional time limit.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

After selection from the main examination, candidates will have to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Refer Annex-IV of the official notification released). A candidate who is not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.

RBI Assistant Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is applicable for both Prelims and Mains:

  • For every correct answer: +1 marks
  • For every wrong answer: -0.25 marks
  • For every unanswered question: 0 marks

In case of LPT, it has no weightage, but it determines whether the candidate is able to handle the local language or not. A candidate who does not pass this would be disqualified.

Ans: Except for English Language section, the paper will be bilingual, i.e. English and Hindi.

Ques: Is there any change in the RBI Assistant 2020 exam pattern?

Ans: The change in RBI assistant 2020 exam is that sectional time limit is introduced in the Mains exam unlike composite time limit in the previous years. Also, candidates wouldn’t be able to switch between sections now.

Hi Sonia, You cannot give banking exams after your 12th.The minimum eligibility for this is graduation.
