RBI Assistant 2020 Exam is conducted online and has two phases, Prelims and Mains. The exam pattern for the preliminary exam is different from the mains exam. The prelims exam pattern is same as of previous years. However, certain changes are introduced in the Mains exam. RBI Assistant 2020 Prelims exam to be held on February 14 – 15, 2020.
RBI Assistant exam pattern for preliminary exam is divided into three sections - English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. In this paper, there will be a total of 100 questions for 100 marks. The major sections for the Mains Exam will be Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. There will be a Sectional time limit in the Mains exam only. Hence a candidate cannot switch between the sections. The candidate has to clear both Prelims and Mains exam to be eligible for the post. RBI Assistant Main exam is scheduled to be held in March 2020 (tentatively).

After selection from the main examination, candidates will have to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Refer Annex-IV of the official notification released). A candidate who is not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
The marking scheme is applicable for both Prelims and Mains:
In case of LPT, it has no weightage, but it determines whether the candidate is able to handle the local language or not. A candidate who does not pass this would be disqualified.
