Who among the following launched the English daily newspaper ‘Bande Mataram’ in 1906 ?
Bipin Chandra Pal
‘Bande Mataram’ was an English daily launched from Calcutta in August 1906, at the height of the Swadeshi and anti-partition agitation in Bengal.
It was started by Bipin Chandra Pal, one of the Lal-Bal-Pal trio of Extremist leaders; Aurobindo Ghosh joined it soon after and became its chief editor.
The paper openly preached Swaraj, boycott and passive resistance. Dadabhai Naoroji, Surendranath Banerjee and Rabindranath Tagore did not found it; Banerjee ran ‘The Bengalee’.
Hence, Bipin Chandra Pal.
