The UN Climate Action Summit 2019 was held to address the escalating challenges of climate change and to mobilize action from governments, businesses, and civil society. The summit aimed to boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
The city that hosted this significant summit was New York. This choice is strategic because many important international organizations, including the United Nations headquarters, are located in New York, making it a central hub for such global events.
Let's discuss why the other options are not correct:
- New Delhi: While New Delhi is a major city in India and often hosts significant international events, it was not the venue for the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit.
- Chicago: A major city in the United States, Chicago hosts numerous large events; however, it did not host the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit.
- Cardiff: The capital city of Wales hosted various international events but was not the venue for this particular climate summit.
Therefore, the correct answer is New York.
