Question

What is the distance between the points (3, 6) and (-2, -6)?

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

13

Apply the distance formula:

\[d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\]

With \((3,6)\) and \((-2,-6)\):

\[d=\sqrt{(-5)^2+(-12)^2}=\sqrt{25+144}=\sqrt{169}=13\]

Therefore the distance is 13 units.
