Van Mahotsav, which means 'festival of trees', is celebrated in India in the ________ of July.
First week
First week is correct.
Van Mahotsav is an annual pan-India tree-planting festival observed in the first week of July (traditionally 1–7 July). It was initiated in 1950 by K.M. Munshi, then Union Minister for Agriculture and Food, as a mass movement to raise awareness about forest conservation and to encourage planting trees.
During the week, central and state forest departments, schools and voluntary organisations plant lakhs of saplings across the country. The timing in early July coincides with the onset of the south-west monsoon, which greatly improves sapling survival.
