Civil Services Day Date
The Government of India observes Civil Services Day every year on April 21.
Significance of Civil Services Day
This significant day is dedicated to the civil servants across India. It serves as an occasion for them to reflect on their work and recommit themselves to the ideals of public service and achieving excellence in their roles for the benefit of citizens.
The date, April 21, was chosen because it was on this date in 1947 that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel addressed the newly appointed civil servants at Metcalf House, New Delhi, calling them the 'steel frame' of the country.
