The correct answer is

22 Years

Step 1 — Seating. Everyone faces outside, so (seen from above) a person's right is clockwise and left is anticlockwise. C is immediately right of X, so C is the next seat clockwise from X. Z is second to the left of C, i.e. two seats anticlockwise from C, which is the seat immediately left of X. Only two persons sit between X and Y, so Y is directly opposite X.

Step 2 — The two seats left are one between C and Y and one between Y and Z. A and Z are not neighbours, so A sits between C and Y and B sits between Y and Z.

Step 3 — Ages. B is older than A and Z; Z is older than A and C but is not the eldest; A is older than Y (A is not younger than Y and all ages differ). So B > Z > A > Y. Y is the third youngest, so exactly two persons are younger than Y, and they must be C and X. The order from the eldest is B, Z, A, Y, then C and X.

Step 4 — Z is the second oldest, so Z is 24 years. C is 20 years and the youngest is below 20, so X is the youngest. Y is older than C and A is older than Y but younger than Z, so \(20 \lt Y \lt A \lt 24\).

Hence A can be 22 years (with Y at 21 years). 25 years and 27 years would make A older than the 24-year-old second oldest person, and 20 years is C's age, which is below Y.

22 Years option is correct.
