The correct answer is

Sulphide ore bodies

Sulphide ore bodies option is correct.

The self-potential (SP) method measures natural, steady-state voltage differences at the ground surface caused by electrochemical cells set up between an ore body and its host. The strong, negative anomalies characteristic of the method arise where a conductive, electronically-connected sulphide body straddles the water table: oxidation at the upper end and reduction at the lower end create a battery-like couple that drives measurable currents and generates the classic SP low over the ore.

The technique therefore works best on massive sulphide bodies (chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena, sphalerite) and, secondarily, on graphite. Carbonate, ferruginous (haematite-goethite) and silicate ore bodies lack the electronic conduction and redox couple needed to generate an SP signature, so the method is inapplicable there.
