The correct answer is

Alps

Mont Blanc rises to about 4,806 m on the border of France and Italy, close to Switzerland, and is the highest summit of Western Europe.

It belongs to the great young fold mountain system that arcs across France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria, a range formed by the collision of the African and Eurasian plates.

The Carpathians lie in Central and Eastern Europe, the Pyrenees separate France from Spain and the Apennines run down the Italian peninsula; none of these contains Mont Blanc.

Hence, Alps.
