Land reform is included in which schedule of the Indian Constitution?
Ninth
The Ninth Schedule was inserted by the First Constitutional Amendment in 1951 to protect zamindari abolition and other agrarian reform statutes from being struck down for violating the fundamental right to property. Article 31B gives every law placed in this schedule immunity from challenge on the ground of inconsistency with Part III of the Constitution.
Over time most state land ceiling, tenancy reform and abolition of intermediaries laws were included in this schedule, though the Supreme Court's I.R. Coelho ruling in 2007 allowed judicial review of insertions made after 24 April 1973 on the basic structure test.
Hence, land reform laws are included in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
