The correct answer is
1858

Viceroy Title for Governor-General of India

Following the Indian Mutiny of 1857, the British Crown assumed direct control over India through the Government of India Act 1858.

This significant administrative change occurred in 1858. The Act transferred the powers previously held by the British East India Company to the British Crown.

Consequently, the title of the head of administration in India was changed. The Governor-General was henceforth also styled as the 'Viceroy', representing the British monarch in India.
