In which province did the famous Agartala movement "Tebhaga" occur?
Bengal
"Agartala movement" in the stem is a mistranslation of agrarian (peasant) movement.
The Tebhaga movement (1946–47) was a sharecroppers' (bargadars') movement in Bengal, led by the Bengal Provincial Kisan Sabha. Its demand was that the landlord's share of the crop be reduced from one-half to one-third — "tebhaga" means three shares, two-thirds for the tiller.
It spread mainly in north Bengal districts such as Dinajpur, Rangpur and Jalpaiguri; it was not a movement of Madras, Sindh or Uttar Pradesh.
Hence, the Tebhaga movement took place in Bengal.
