The correct answer is

7

India's Five-Year Plans were introduced in 1951 after independence. These plans aimed at economic development and were inspired by the Soviet model.

Between 1951 and 1990, the following seven Five-Year Plans were completed:

First Plan (1951–1956)

Second Plan (1956–1961)

Third Plan (1961–1966)

Fourth Plan (1969–1974) (There was a gap from 1966–1969 due to economic instability)

Fifth Plan (1974–1978)

Sixth Plan (1980–1985) (The Janata government scrapped the original Fifth Plan and introduced a rolling plan, but it was discontinued)

Seventh Plan (1985–1990)

Thus, a total of 7 Five-Year Plans were successfully completed from 1951 to 1990.
