This question was previously asked in
RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (9-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

12

Number: 1543862. Adding 1 to odd digits and subtracting 2 from even digits: 1→2, 5→6, 4→2, 3→4, 8→6, 6→4, 2→0, giving the new number 2624604...

The digit second from the left (originally 5, now 6) and the digit third from the right (originally 8, now 6): 6 + 6 = 12.

Hence, this is the correct answer.
