Question

Based on the English alphabetical order, three of the following four letter cluster pairs are alike in a certain way and thus form a group. Which is the one that does not belong to that group? (Note: The odd one out is not based on the number of consonants/vowels or their position in the letter cluster)

This question was previously asked in
RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (18-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

QR - MP

In XB - UY: X(-3)→U, B(-3, wrapping)→Y. In DI - AF: D(-3)→A, I(-3)→F. In KO - HL: K(-3)→H, O(-3)→L. All three follow a (-3, -3) letter shift.

In QR - MP: Q(-4)→M, R(-2)→P, which is a (-4, -2) shift, not matching the rest.

Hence, QR - MP does not belong to the group.
