Which Odia poet won the Bal Sahitya Puraskar in June 2025 for Kete Phula Phutichhi?
Rajkishore Parhi
The Sahitya Akademi announced its Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2025 (the national award for children's literature) in June 2025, and the Odia language honour went to Rajkishore Parhi for his poetry collection Kete Phula Phutichhi. The award carries a citation, an engraved bronze plaque and a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and the formal presentation was held later in New Delhi.
The Bal Sahitya Puraskar is given annually by the Sahitya Akademi (India's National Academy of Letters) to encourage writing aimed at young readers across the 24 recognised Indian languages.
The other names are distractors: Mayur Khavdu, Subrat Senapati and Fagu Baskey were not the Odia-language Bal Sahitya Puraskar winner for this title, so only Rajkishore Parhi is correct.
