Question

18 is related to 37 following a certain logic. Following the same logic, 36 is related to 73. To which of the given options is 54 related, following the same logic? (NOTE : Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits. E.g. 13 – Operations on 13 such as adding /subtracting /multiplying etc. to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed.)

The correct answer is

109

Each number is related to the next by doubling it and adding 1: 18 × 2 + 1 = 37; 36 × 2 + 1 = 73.

Applying the same rule to 54: 54 × 2 + 1 = 109.

Hence, the correct answer is 109.
