UPPSC 2025 Exam Pattern

UPPSC 2025 Exam Pattern is different for Prelims and Mains exams. The former has objective MCQ-type questions while the Mains has descriptive questions. The details of both are given here.

UPPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

  • The Preliminary exam will consist of two question papers.
  • Paper I is considered for merit, while Paper II is qualifying with the required score of 33%.
  • There is a negative marking of 1/3rd of the assigned marks for every wrong answer.
  • The duration of each paper is 2 hours.

UPPSC Recruitment Selection Process 2025

UPPSC recruitment involves three main stages:

  1. Prelims Exam (Objective): Screening test to shortlist candidates for Mains.
  2. Mains Exam (Descriptive/Written): Evaluates in-depth knowledge, marks count toward final selection.
  3. Interview / Personality Test: Assesses communication, awareness, and suitability; marks added to Mains for final merit.

Note: Final selection is based on Mains + Interview performance. Prelims are qualifying.

Candidates who qualify UPPSC Prelims and Mains examinations will be shortlisted for the final stage of selection, which includes the Personality Test / Interview. Marks obtained in the Mains and Interview are combined to prepare the final merit list.
