Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) takes various exams to select candidates for different jobs within government departments. The commission decides the eligibility criteria for the several exams conducted by the exam conducting authority each year.

Before appearing in the exam, candidates should practise the previous years’ papers of MPSC Prelims and Mains Exam. The minimum and the maximum age group of the interested candidates should be 19 years and 38 years respectively for appearing in the exam. These is the basic criteria to apply for the MPSC exam 2021.

MPSC Exam Date 2021

The MPSC admit card for 2020-21 prelims exam was released on 1 March 2021 and the exam has been postponed further to 21st March, previously it was scheduled on 14th March. Go through the following table to know more about the important dates:

MPSC Eligibility 2021

Only Indian Nationals can apply for these exams. To apply for MPSC State Service Exam 2021, candidates must be the citizen of India, residents of Maharashtra state can get some relaxation in eligibility criteria. The residents of Maharashtra living in the state for more than 10 years are eligible for reservation. Fluency in Marathi (spoken and written) is a vital eligibility criterion to apply to these exams.

MPSC Exam Age Limit

The minimum and maximum MPSC age limit for the State Service Exam (for the year 2020-21) is mentioned below:

  • Minimum Age (as on March 1, 2020): 19 years
  • Maximum Age (as on March 1, 2020): 38 years (General Category)

Note: While appearing for the MPSC state exam, candidates need to have completed at least 19 years of age (on or before March 1 of the year in which candidates are giving the MPSC Prelims exam). Some relaxations in age are granted to the candidates based on their category.

MPSC age relaxation limit for the candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST, Persons with disabilities (PwD), ex-servicemen are discussed below:

  • Age relaxation will be applied for candidates belonging to the reserved category as per government norms.

MPSC Educational Qualification

Candidates meeting the below-mentioned educational eligibility criteria for MPSC exams are eligible to apply to these exams:

  • He/she must be efficient in Marathi
  • He/she must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply to these exams.

Since MPSC exams are taken for a wider range of posts and services, each post has specific eligibility criteria (including educational qualification, physical fitness, etc.). Few posts need subject-specific expertise as per the rules set by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

MPSC Physical Measurements

While applying to several MPSC posts, candidates must meet physical fitness/measurements as eligibility requirements. While applying for the post of DSP, ACP, etc. below mentioned MPSC Physical Qualification is vital.

  • Minimum height for DySP (Dy Superintendent of Police) post - 165 cm (for males)
  • For female candidates, it is 157 cm.

Ques. Can 12th passed students apply for the MPSC exam?

Ans. No, the 12th standard aspirants are not eligible to apply for the MPSC exam.

Ques. Is Marathi compulsory for appearing in the MPSC exam?

Ans. Yes, Marathi language is mandated to know if the aspirants desire to appear for the MPSC exam.

Ques. Can I give the MPSC exam in English?

Ans. Yes, the aspirants can choose either English or Marathi to give the MPSC exam. However, if the aspirants will be shortlisted for the mains exam, there will be a compulsory paper on Marathi language. Check the MPSC Syllabus as well.

Is there any age relaxation under ews for mpsc combined exam?

No there is no relaxation in terms of upper age limit for EWS category and they will be considered with general category only. Minimum age to apply for general candidate is 19 years while the maximum age must be not more than 38 years. There will be relaxation of 3 years for OBC, 7 years for SC/ST and for PwD category maximum age limit is 35 years.

The dates of application are announced on the official website of MPSC 2021 itself, therefore, candidates can directly check and apply thereby. However, to our notice the MPSC Prelims 2021 examination has already been conducted on March 21, 2021. If you missed the dates this year, you can apply next year as well.

Since you have completed graduation, you can apply for any of the above-mentioned posts. But there are other eligibility criteria as well like minimum age should be 19 years and maximum age should be 38 years. You must fulfill physical measurements as well.

To be eligible for MPSC exam, one needs to have a valid bachelor’s degree in relevant stream from a reognised board. For different posts available, eligibility criteria also varies. Yes such marks like tatto will not be an issue and you can apply with that for MPSC vacancies. There will be 3 stages of selection process namely Prelims exam, Mains exam and interview round. Those qulaifying these stages, will be called for document verification process and final allotment in one of the branches under MPSC.

There is reservation applicable as prescribed by the govt. of India and certain reserved category candidates will avail relaxation in age and minimum qualifying marks as well. There is no specific reservation for PH category students as such. Check details of eligibility and other criterias before applying for the exam.

Exam date is yet to be announce and at the right time it will be updated on the official website of MPSC. The last date for registration was January 2021.The exam will be conducted in offline mode for which you need to complete the registration process in online mode only.

sir/mam..what is the difference between psi and deputy collector or dysp. there is any examination difference in between them. or by ranking selection criteria is follows. i know the exam is same for all (mpsc) but there is any syllabus changes for the psi and dysp post. can we apply for psi (sti,aso)and dc and dysp at a time?. what is the criteria for slelecton can you please elaborate it.

All 3 posts are different but exam is common for all. Salary and other perks varies from one post to other. You need to apply for the exam and selection to a particular post will depend on your score or rank.

Cut off for different post is different. Check details at MPSC 2021 results and cut off.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts the exam recruiting candidates for the state's civil Services. The posts includes in MPSC are Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), Tehsildar, Block Development Officer (BDO)-B and Deputy Registrar Co-operative Society. There isn't any post such as medical officer.

Hi Disha, According to latest update, MPSC prelims exam 2020 which was rescheduled, will now be conducted on March 14 2021. The mains exam will tentatively be conducted in August 2021 but exact date and notification is yet to be announced. To know more dates and details visit MPSC 2021.

Hi Dipak, There is no reservation of seats for ex serviceman but there might be relaxation in age and aggregate applicable as per the government guidelines. There are other guidelines of eligibility that needs to be followed before applying for the exam. Find other details at MPSC exam.

Hi Dhiraj, To be eligible either you must have a Bachelor’s degree in hand or in the final year of the UG course. As you are currently in 2nd year, you are not eligible to apply. Also there are other criterias that need to be fulfilled including competancy in local language i.e. marathi. Find other details at MPSC 2021.

Hi Venkatesh, Yes you can apply for MPSC as there is no restriction of state of residence or education but you must be fluent in Marathi language which is a mandate. Hi, Application form for the entrance test is available in both offline and online mode from the official website of the board conducting the exam. 

Scope of BHMS: Candidates get 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month after completing the BHMS course. Post-graduation and experience can improve the job scope as well as salary packages. The course offer good scope for graduation and candidates can find jobs in both urban as well as rural areas.

Hi, Age Qualifications for MPSC Exams: The minimum age for candidates appearing for an MPSC exam is 18 years, the maximum age generally is 33 years. The maximum age is relaxable for OBC candidates (max. 35yrs.) and for SC/ST/NT candidate.
