MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) examinations are very prestigious and one of the most sought after examinations by the students of Maharashtra. These exams are to recruit candidates for the administration, police, engineering, forests, and other offices of the Government of Maharashtra. MPSC, a committee set under the Constitution of India, conducts around 15 exams for different departments every year at many exam centres spread across the state of Maharashtra. MPSC has provided all the information regarding the exams such as the application, syllabus, eligibility, and others on the official website for the perusal of the students.

Eligibility for MPSC 2021

Following are the list of criteria that check the eligibility of the candidates to appear for the MPSC Examinations. The students need to go through these criteria and the syllabus available on the official website thoroughly before filling up the online application form for the examination.

  • Any candidate appearing for the exam should be a citizen of India
  • The candidate needs to have at least a bachelor’s degree or a diploma of three years in any discipline from a recognized university/institution.
  • Candidates applying for MPSC for the posts of Clerks/Typists must have at least passed SSC.
  • People residing in Maharashtra for more than ten years are eligible for the reservation.
  • To apply for reservation, the residents must have documents proving their residence in Maharashtra for over ten years.
  • Candidates from General Category must be between 19 years and 33 years of age.
  • Candidates with OBC reservations must be between 19 years and 36 years of age.
  • Candidates with SC/ST reservations must be between 19 years and 38 years of age.
  • Candidates with PWD reservations must be between 19 years and 45 years of age.
  • Candidates applying for Sales Tax Inspector or Assistant and Police Sub Inspector for Maharashtra Police Force must know Marathi.
  • Male aspirants for Police Sub Inspector at Maharashtra Police Force must meet the physical eligibility criteria of minimum height- 165cms, and chest 79 cms (unexpanded) and 84 cms (expanded).
  • Female aspirants for Police Sub Inspector at Maharashtra Police Force must be minimum 157cms in height.
  • Candidates for the posts of Clerks/Typists at various departments of the Government of Maharashtra must know both Marathi and English.
  • The typing speed for the posts of Clerks/Typist should be a minimum of 30 WPM in Marathi and 40 WPM in English.

MPSC 2021 Application

Things to remember about the application:

  • The application fee for MPSC is INR 324 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD of Maharashtra and INR 524 for others.
  • The Email Id and the Contact number given by the students must be correct and active.
  • All the information filled in must be true and correct to the knowledge of the students.
  • MPSC will not entertain and consider any change in the details provided during the registration and application.
  • The students must regularly check the MPSC notification area on the website to stay updated regarding the dates of issuing of Admit Cards, Exams, and other details.
  • The students must have the photocopies of the original Marksheets and Certifications.

Steps to apply for MPSC 2021

  • To apply for the Prelims of MPSC 2021, the students have to register using their Email ID and contact number on the official website https://mpsc.gov.in after the registration starts, and before the due date mentioned in the notification issued by MPSC.
  • The students must note down the username and password provided after the registration for the later proceedings.
  • After the registration, the students are eligible to fill in the online application form.
  • Then they have to fill in all the correct details and submit the application before the last date.
  • The aspirants also need to upload the scanned copies of the documents mentioned in the application form, such as the degrees and certificates.
  • In the case of students applying for reservation, they have to submit the adequate and corresponding certificates along with the rest of the documents.
  • Additionally to all the documents, the students have to upload their scanned copies of a recent passport-size photograph and a signature.
  • The dimensions of both the photograph and the signature should not be more than 4.5 X 3.5 cms.
  • The size of both the photograph and the signature should not be more than 50KB.
  • After filling all the details, the students must ‘Save’ their application.
  • The students have to pay the application fees online through Netbanking/Credit Card/Debit Card.
  • After the students have submitted the application form, the students must download their filled application.
  • They must take out two printouts of the application and keep them safe if any issue arises in the future.

In the MPSC application form, my surname is wrong in Devanagari script. I have mailed an ID to the support email, but still, I have gotten no response from their side. Shall I wait for their response or is it okay to apply for the exam?
