Educational Qualifications

  • The aspirants should pass Class 10th with Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
  • The aspiring students must have studied the local language up to Class 10th as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.

Age Criteria

  • The age of the candidates should be in between 18 to 40 years as on September 1st, 2020.

Computer Knowledge

Other Criteria

  • Candidates must have knowledge of cycling which is a prerequisite for all the GDS posts.
  • Aspirants must have the complete knowledge of writing, reading and communicating in the local language of the respective States or UTs.
GDS Application Process

India Post GDS 2020 Application Process

There are various stages involved in the GDS online application process as follows:

  1. Registration
  2. Payment of Fees (Online or Offline)
  3. Apply Online

Below are given the steps to apply for India GDS 2020:

Step 1: First of all, Visit the official website, i.e., www.appost.in.

Step 2: Go to the link of registration and click on the “Registration” tab. Enter the required details such as Name, Mobile Number, Gender, Date of Birth, Category, etc.

Step 3: An OTP will be sent for the verification on the registered mobile number. Also, a unique registration number will be generated.

Step 4: Pay the application fees through online or offline mode. To pay the fees in offline mode, candidates have to visit the head post office.

Step 5: Now, Fill up the GDS online application form using the registration number and other details. Also, upload your prescribed educational certificates, photo, signature, etc. in the prescribed format. Click on “Submit Details” button.

Step 6: Aspirants are advised to take a print out of the application form and keep it safely for future reference.

To register for the various posts of Gramin Dak Sevak, Candidates must register by paying the application fees. Candidates can pay the fees via both online and offline mode. To complete the payment through offline mode, candidates have to visit the Head Post Office or the fee payment offices for the same.

India Post GDS 2020 Selection Process

The selection process of India Post GDS 2020 is given below:

  1. The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the merit list which will be prepared as per the rules set by the authority. No exam will be conducted for the selection process.
  2. Only marks obtained in Class 10th will be considered for the selection process.

Step 1: Go to the official website of Gramin Dak Sevak Engagement Portal of India and login using the login credentials.

Step 2: A list of postal circles will be displayed on the homepage.

Step 3: Search for the postal circle you have applied for and open it.

Step 4: Click on the link “Results”.

Step 5: Once the page will be opened, the aspirants can check the GDS Merit List displayed on the screen in the format of PDF.

India Post GDS 2020 Salary Structure

The Gramin Dak Sevaks are offered salaries in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA). Minimum TRCA or salary payable to these three categories of GDS after 7th Pay Commission are:

Ques. How to get the information that result of the respective portal circle is announced?

Ans: The result of India Post GDS 2020 will be displayed on the official portal only. Candidates will not get any personal message for the same. Hence, all the aspirants are advised to remain in touch with the official portal only.

Ques. Will I receive any GDS scorecard?

Ans: No, you separate marks memo will be sent to any candidate. The marks percentage of each selected candidate will be mentioned on the online result sheet. However, a physical intimation will be sent only to the selected candidates after a few days of the declaration of result.
