Candidates will be selected through a multi-stage selection process that involves a written exam, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade Test, and Medical Exam.

BSF Constable Selection Process 2025 involves 4 stages: Physical Test, Written Exam, Trade Test & DV, and Medical Exam.
1. Physical Test:
Physical Test consists of two parts: the Physical Standard Test (PST), which measures height and chest (only for males) according to category, and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which evaluates running endurance.

A written exam of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), in which each question carries 1 mark to be completed in 2 hours, is conducted for Physical Test qualified candidates
3. Trade Tests & DV:
In this stage, written exam qualified candidates are required to give a trade test, as per the category of trade they had taken. Following this, candidates are called for Document Verification by BSF.
4. Medical Test:
Medical Examination for the BSF Constable Tradesman is the final stage of the selection process. It assesses the candidate’s overall physical and mental fitness for duty.
