ASRB NET eligibility criteria 2026 define the conditions that candidates must meet to apply for this exam. These conditions are set by ASRB under the aegis of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. Candidates who have attained 21 years of age, hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, and have specified nationality norms can apply for the post of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) & as SMS/STO/ARS in Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and ICAR institutes.
Candidates applying for ASRB NET 2026 must fulfill the following nationality criteria:
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories 2, 3, 4, and 5 above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
ASRB has set a different age limit for different exams. However, age relaxations have been provided for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ex-servicemen by the government.
Candidates who want to appear for ASRB NET 2026 must be equal to or above 21 years of age as on January 1, 2026. There is no upper age limit for candidates in ASRB NET exam.
In ASRB ARS exam, the minimum age of candidates shall be 21 years. However, the upper age limit varies, as given below:
