USET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Age Limit, Educational Qualifications

USET Eligibility Criteria 2026 is based on the parameters of educational qualification, age limit, and nationality. Applicants must be Indian citizens who possess a postgraduate degree with a minimum percentage (depending upon the category) from a recognised university. There is no upper age limit for appearing in USET exam. All candidates above 21, with the required qualification can apply for USET 2026. 

USET Educational Qualification 2026

USET Educational qualification requires candidates to have a Master’s Degree from a recognised university. The following are the detailed requirements of education for USET 2026:

• Candidates from the unreserved category must have a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in their Master’s Degree or equivalent.
• Candidates who belong to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PWD categories must have a minimum aggregate of 50%.
• PhD holders who have completed their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991 must have a minimum aggregate mark of 50%.
• Candidates awaiting or recently appeared for their Master’s degree can apply, but will be eligible for the Assistant Professor position only after passing their exam with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) within two years of publication of the result.

USET Age Limit 2026

USET Age Limit requires candidates to have a minimum age of 21 years. There is no upper age limit for USET 2026. Candidates above 21, who have the required educational qualification, can apply for the exam as many times until they qualify.

USET Nationality Criteria 2026

Candidates who meet all the above-mentioned eligibility criteria must also be Indian nationals to apply for USET 2026. Foreign nationals are not eligible to appear for the exam.

USET 2026 does not have a restriction on the number of attempts, allowing candidates to appear multiple times if they meet the eligibility criteria. Prior teaching or related experience is not mandatory for the exam.
