Candidates applying for TNUSRB SI exam 2026 must be Indian citizens and residents of the State of Tamil Nadu. They must satisfy this requirement at the time of application. Ensuring full compliance with this nationality criterion is essential to avoid disqualification during the selection process.

TNUSRB SI Age Limit 2026

TNUSRB SI Age Limit defines the minimum and maximum eligible ages with upper-age relaxations for certain categories. The minimum age for all categories of candidates is 20 years. Candidates must check their category for the maximum age limit before applying, as given below:

TNUSRB SI Educational Qualification 2026

Candidates must meet qualifications as prescribed by TNUSRB before applying for TNUSRB Sub Inspector posts, as given below:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a UGC recognised or government-recognised university or institution.
  2. The degree must be obtained through:
  • 10 + 2 + 3/4/5 pattern after SSLC (10th) and Higher Secondary.
  • 10 + 3 + 2 or 10 + 3 + 3 pattern, where a Diploma is taken after SSLC.
  • 10 + 2 + 3 pattern after SSLC and a 2-year ITI.
  1. Graduates through the Open University/Distance Education are eligible if they followed the patterns above.

Candidates who have passed Class 10th standard directly without studying Class 9th standard or passed Class 12th standard directly without studying Class 11th standard are not eligible.

TNUSRB SI 2026 reservation policy follows the communal-quota norms set by the Tamil Nadu government and includes percentages for different categories, ensuring fair representation across communities, which is given below:

TNUSRB SI Physical Standard Test 2026

TNUSRB SI Physical Standard Test PST 2026 evaluates candidates’ physical fitness and body measurements to ensure they meet the required standards essential for police duties and field performance.

  1. Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

The norms for Open Candidates for the Physical Measurement Test are as follows:

Note:

  • Ex-servicemen / Serving Military Personnel who are going to retire within one year / Ex-personnel of CAPF are exempted from the Physical Measurement Test.
  • The Physical Measurement Test is qualifying in nature.
  1. Endurance Test (ET):

The norms for open candidates for the Endurance Test are as follows:

Nature of the Test:

  • The Endurance Test is qualifying in nature.
  • Only the candidates who qualify in the Endurance Test will be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
  • No excuses will be entertained with regard to ill health or any other injuries at the centre.

  • Men candidates must climb the rope using only their hands; using legs or body will result in a Zero Star (0 mark).
  • Two chances will be given for Rope Climbing and Long Jump/High Jump. The highest score of two attempts will be considered.
  • Only one chance is given for the 100 m / 400 m runs.
